Mt. Makalu (8485m) is situated on the Nepal-Tibet border to the southeast of Mt. Everest. It's the sixth highest peak on the planet.

Is it possible for us to do the Makalu Base Camp Trek by ourselves?

Yes, you can tackle the Makalu trip independently or with a guide. However, you must consider your food and lodging. You may find it challenging to follow the trail due to the lack of a hiking route marker or signboard. In addition, there will be fewer tourists trekking to Makalu.

When the weather does not cooperate with our plans, it can be not easy to cope. As a result, hiking with a friend or coworker or with an experienced trekking guide is preferable.

Is the Makalu Base Camp Trek difficult?

The Makalu Base Camp Trip is a challenging or arduous trek. You can complete the walk if you have travelled over 4000m and are physically fit.

On average, you should walk for 5-6 hours every day. The walk includes multiple river crossings, a suspension bridge, a wooden cantilever bridge, stone stairs, deep woodlands, and a dramatic elevation and weather change.

If you believe you can conquer all of these challenges and embark on an adventurous trekking adventure in Nepal, the Makalu Base Camp Trek is for you.

What type of food is available during the Makalu Base Camp Trek?

Fresh basic local food such as Nepali Dhal Bhat, Noodles, Fry, Rice, and Potatoes may be found. You can pack your refreshments because purchasing them along the trekking paths will be prohibitively pricey.

The Makalu Base Camp Trip is a challenging or arduous trek. You can complete the walk if you have travelled over 4000m and are physically fit.
