Khopra Trek Trail and Route

Trek commences from Kathmandu.  Pokhara, the most beautiful city in Nepal, is the destination on the second day of our trek. Khayer Lake Trek

This lake trek is challenging and can be tricky as the last hours of trekking to the famous Khayer Lake.  This hike is wholesome, taking you to snow lands, waterfalls, and drylands before finally making it to Khayer Lake. Khayer Lake is famous for its fantastic view of the Himalayan range. Another major attraction of Khayer Lake is the small temple of Khayer Barahi just on the bank of Khayer Lake. Best Time to do Khopra Trek

Any trekking in Nepal is best during the month between March, April to May and between October to early December. From March to May, one can experience blooming rhododendron. However, this trek is not suggested during December as the trail gets tedious because of heavy snowfall.

It is necessary to prepare before any trek in Nepal, no matter the duration. It is better to do a short hike in your homeland to better prepare your body for the tour. Trekking Itinerary-Overview

After arriving in Kathmandu and settling down in Kathmandu on your first day of the trek, our trek starts the very next day. On the second day of our itinerary, we will reach Pokhara by plane or vehicle. You will be assisted through check-in formalities in Pokhara and then will drive to Kimche. Then we will start the short hike to Ghandruk from Kimche. After spending a night in Ghandruk, we will begin trekking to Sinuwa from Ghandruk on the third day of the trek. We will pass through a beautiful village, Chhomrong too. On day four of the walk, we will hike to reach Deurali from Sinuwa. After hiking for 6-7 hours, we will reach Deurali crossing Bamboo, Dovan and Himalaya villages and sites.

Then on the next day, mountain Annapurna awaits. With a total hiking time of 5-6 hours, we will reach ABC from Deurali via Macchapucchre Base Camp. We will start hiking back to Bamboo on our sixth day of the trek. We will reach Jhinu from Bamboo on the seventh day of the hike. From Jhinu, we will reach Pokhara on eight days of the walk and fly/drive to Kathmandu on the last day of the trek.

Panchase Trek Routes

First Route

The major popular route to Panchase Trek commences from Kande, Pokhara. On the first day, the trek starts from Kande to reach Bhadure. You will go to Bhanjyang from Bhaduri on the second day of your tour. On the third day, you will get to Panchase Peak from Bhanjyang and return to Bhanjyang. You can extend your night’s stay in Bhanjyang or directly trek back to Pokhara.

Solo travellers find this trek fancier as it is not too demanding, is not dull to hike alone and is well marked.

Second Route

The second Route to Panchase follows the same route until reaching the peak of Panchase, but you will take a different way to return to Pokhara. You reach peak via Kande, Bhadure, and Bhanjyang. And will return via Sidhane Damdame and Ghaitchhina. This return route takes you to the thick, dense forest, terraced farmland, and villages of different ethnic communities.  However, this route is not that famous, so carrying lots of water and snacks is advisable. Finally, you can take a taxi, bus or even walk to Lakeside Pokhara.

Many stone steps are here along the route to Panchase, which can be challenging. Climbing down the stairs is more difficult as more pressure is on the knees. Accommodation

Basic tea house in old times has changed to semi-luxury properties, thus delivering more amenities to all travellers coming for Everest.

Rooms on most trekking routes in Nepal have two single beds, are not heated, and come with non-attached bathrooms. However, spaces are facilitated with excellent quality mattresses and warm blankets. The highlighting part of all these lodges or tea houses is the standard dining room, heated with different fires creating local materials. The everyday staple food of Nepal, the Dal, Bhat & Tarkari (Steamed Rice, Pulse Soup and Curries, both veg and non-veg, is available everywhere. But, the menu covers Indian and even continental dishes. Please try Tibetan bread/Chapati for breakfast. There is a wide range of choices available in hot soups as well. Pancakes, muesli, porridge, and omelettes are some typical food you see for breakfast in the Himalayas.

Dal, Bhat, as mentioned before, should be your go-to choice for lunch. The energy Dal Bhat provides helps in conquering challenging trekking trails. In the liquid department, you see options available. Tea, Coffee, Ginger, Honey, Lemon, and a good choice of alcoholic beverages, including beer, local wine, rum, and other non-alcoholic drinks, are readily available at higher costs due to increased overheads. On the other hand, Namche is facilitated by bakeries and Irish Pubs. Luxury restaurants like Namche are nowhere to be found during your trekking journey to Everest.

Summer

The summer months of Nepal are June, July, and August. Summer also implies monsoon in this part of the world. Almost 20 days in June and July are rainy, with more than 100cm of rainfall. However, most rain falls in the evenings and at night, and the mountains are beautiful during the day. It’s the hottest month of the year, and you can hike in only a few layers. In the summer, the temperature in Namche reaches about 20 degrees Celsius.

Autumn

After August, the cloud is no longer visible as November approaches; the temperature decreases around 12 degrees Celsius in the Everest area. The sky remains evident throughout the day, allowing for panoramic views of the mountains. Even at night, Everest may be seen gleaming. Nepalese celebrations such as Dashain, Tihar, and Chhat occur around this season. As a result, everything is alive and well.

Winter

If you were to go to Everest Base Camp or Gokyo in the winter, we would advise against it. On the other hand, our Everest View Trek map roams around Namche Bazaar. The winters in this region are rarely snowy, and the days are similarly mild; Everest temperatures in the afternoon are around 5 degrees Celsius in December and January. Spring

Best Season to do Everest View Trek

The best season is not entirely applicable for Everest trekking as every season has its beauty and newness. The peak season is autumn, full of climbers and trekkers as the weather is stable. During the off-season of monsoon and winter, fewer tourists explore the area, creating a relaxed environment to relish mother nature’s unmatched beauty.

However, the season of Monsoon(July – August) and Winter(January- February) is not the first choice for Everest view Trek as the weather gets unpredictable and extreme. Everest View Point Trek is mostly wholesome during wintertime.

Required Permits and Checkpoints

You require some permits to indulge in the beauty of Everest freely. Everest Trek permits from TAAN (Trekking Agency Association of Nepal) Nepal Tourism Board is necessary. Similarly, the Sagarmatha National Park entry permit can be acquired from their office at Pradashani Marg, Kathmandu.

The Sagarmatha National Park permit is USD 30 + 13% VAT for foreigners. The cost is Rs 1,500 for those from the SAARC nations, while it is free for Nepalese. The fee for entering a National Park goes toward wildlife management. You’ll also need to get a Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permit. In that attitude of 3880m, cases of altitude sickness are zero but keep in mind that it is your body that needs to adapt to higher elevations. Day Hike to Suryachaur

Upon having breakfast at the hotel, our vehicle will pick you up and transfer you to this trek’s starting point. Kakani is the start point of this hike. We will drive to Kakani through Kathmandu- Trishuli highway seeing city life, countryside lifestyle, religious places, terrace farming and people doing agricultural work in more old ways.

Upon reaching Kakani, we start our hike passing through Kakani village in the initial phase of the walk. And we continue hiking through Kakani village, leading us to some open hills and passing through dense forest. The hike then continues with steep ascends, and small descends at some places. You will be able to enjoy the whole hiking experience as you will be seeing the breathtaking view of mountains during the walk and obviously from the destination, Suryachaur. A spectacular view of Mt. Ganesh, Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar and other mountains is what you will be served in this hike to Suryachaur. Beyond the lovely view of these mountains, you will look at Tamang villages and terrace farming. Reaching Suryachaur makes you feel excited as the place is beautiful and unique. We will have lunch at Suryachaur, and after lunch, we will continue our hiking to Gurju Bhanjyang. We will return following a dense forest path and will descend most of the time. Upon reaching Gurju Bhanjyang, our vehicle will pick you up and drive you to Kathmandu.
