From Panchase, you feel satisfied with the superb view of mountains 8000m above high. The best time to savour the natural magnificence is in the early morning. The sky is clear, and sun rays hit, making mountains golden. Mt Fishtail, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu, and Mt. Lamjung will open up on clear sky days. The best time to trek in Nepal is from September to November and April to March. There are different trek routes to reach Pachase, and Raconteur Adventure has all the itineraries ready to serve you.

Panchase Trek Routes

First Route

The major popular route to Panchase Trek commences from Kande, Pokhara. On the first day, the trek starts from Kande to reach Bhadure. You will go to Bhanjyang from Bhaduri on the second day of your tour. On the third day, you will get to Panchase Peak from Bhanjyang and return to Bhanjyang. You can extend your night’s stay in Bhanjyang or directly trek back to Pokhara.

Solo travellers find this trek fancier as it is not too demanding, is not dull to hike alone and is well marked.

Second Route

The second Route to Panchase follows the same route until reaching the peak of Panchase, but you will take a different way to return to Pokhara. You reach peak via Kande, Bhadure, and Bhanjyang. And will return via Sidhane Damdame and Ghaitchhina. This return route takes you to the thick, dense forest, terraced farmland, and villages of different ethnic communities. However, this route is not that famous, so carrying lots of water and snacks is advisable. Finally, you can take a taxi, bus or even walk to Lakeside Pokhara.

Many stone steps are here along the route to Panchase, which can be challenging. Climbing down the stairs is more difficult as more pressure is on the knees. It is good to carry trekking poles with you. Altitude sickness is no issue in this trek, and the maximum altitude in the trek walk is just 2500 meters above sea level. Please mind checking our itinerary section or writing to us to know more about the entire tour organisation, and safety precautions are taken @ info@localhost. There are plenty of reasons to do Panchase Trek as it is short, making it relatively cheaper and not challenging. But the natural abundance is not to be missed too.

Flora and Fauna of the Panchase region

Nepal is known as orchid heaven, as 381 species are found in Nepal. Out of 381, 125 species of orchids are here in the Panchase region. This region has a forest line of walnut, oak and pine trees. You will walk through a forest of blooming red, yellow, pink, and white during the Spring. Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal. This beautiful setting might sound magical, but we urge you to come and experience it for yourself.

Nineteen species of Mammals are here in Panchase Region. Common leopard, the tiger, spotted deer, fox, civet cat, barking beer, black beer, wild board, rhesus macaque and common langur call the Panchase region they’re home. And 260 species of birds sing and play here. Some common birds you will see are wildfowl, woodpeckers, kingfishers, parrots, bulbuls, babblers, bee-eaters, warblers and other species.

Best time for Panchase Trek

If you think about the best time to do Panchase Trek, then Spring, Autumn and winter are the best time to do Panchase Trek. Spring serves the best setting as hills are full of colourful blooming rhododendrons, clear sky, and glittering mountains. But there is always that chance that the atmosphere can be full of clouds.

If you wish to trek during Autumn, the sky is clear, and greenery and filled up water bodies can be encountered. Panchase Trek can be done even in winter, as the season is primarily dry with little snowfall.

Travel with Guide, Permits

Please trek with the guide if you want to enjoy this trek’s excitement fully. The possibility of accidents cannot be denied in the mountainous region of Nepal. So, a professional guide/porter can be more helpful for any situation arising related to food, accommodation, sickness, or accidents. And Raconteur Adventure has a team of well-experienced guides working in the tourism field of Nepal for decades now. It would help if you acquired some ACAP(Annapurna Conservation Area Permit) and TIMS(Trekking Information Management System) before going to Panchase. We will assist you through these permits.

Trekking to this heaven is ideal if you want to dissolve the scenic beauty it serves slowly. Greenery and Modi Khola river you accompanies during trek to Ghorepani. Mountain View is simply stunning, with warm Gurung villages. Front drop of dense rhododendron forest, and on top wildlife in the woods; a true masterpiece prevails here. Moreover, the fantastic view of Annapurna Range, Macchapucchare (Fish Tail Mountain), touching the sky is satisfying.

Ghandruk Poonhill Trek offers an enriching sunrise view. Standing at Poohill early in the morning, smiling golden mountains with sun rays falling on a clear sky day is what you will experience in this trek. Now, you may have this question about accessibility. There are plenty of ways to Ghandruk, but Poonhill is a virgin trekking route. You may book a vehicle till Ghandruk and then start trekking uphill. But please check our itinerary for the best Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking.

Length and Terrain of Poonhill Trek

Ghorepani Poonhill trek is a relatively short trek of 45 kilometers in a circuit encircling clockwise with an exciting viewpoint, the Poonhill at 3250m above sea level. The Poonhill trek renders some fantastic scenes of valleys, which are deep and mountains which are shiny and beautiful.

Trekking in any part of Nepal depends on weather conditions. In fact, weather conditions during Poonhill are not to the extreme as we won’t be getting into higher altitudes. Moreover, quality gear assures that the trek is smooth and satisfying. The hike is wholesome and fulfilling and promises to create memories to share the forthcoming.

Accommodation during the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

Accommodation during Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is nice as this part is facilitated with nicely built hotels and local cooks. And, families mostly run lodges here. Lodges have a large kitchen cum dining area with a large stove providing heat and cozy setting in cold weather. No bedrooms are heated. Most of the rooms have two bedrooms with mattresses, a pillow and, of course, a blanket. Carry sleeping bag; a 2/3 season is good enough as the blankets might not fulfil your sleeping needs. Moreover, please bring a pillowcase for your hygiene and safety concerns. Lodge during the trek has shower facilities, which are powered by gas. Most lodges and homestays have sit down flush toilets, and some even have squat toilets.

The food during the tour is of good quality and is hygienic. You get to see a mixture of western recipes and local Nepali food. Similarly, during this Poonhill trek, you will have plenty of menu options. This includes pastries, beers, soft drinks, and many other food items you usually see in lavish restaurants. Yes, they may not have the same taste and luxury of fine dining. But considering the difficulties of mountain people, international recipe is praiseworthy. Moreover, the everyday staple food of Nepal, which is Dal, Bhat and Tarkari(Steamed Rice, Pulse Soup and Mix Veg/Non-Veg Curry), is everywhere. A famous saying reflects Nepal’s food value: ” Dal Bhat Power, 24 hours”.

So, the Poonhill trek is short, moderately challenging, and fulfilling.

Short Itinerary Information
