Some vegetation includes chir pine-rhododendron forest, Himalayan fir-hemlock-oak forest, oak forest and alder forest on the riverine side. There are altogether 567 species of flora, out of which 224 species are medicinal herbs alone. With diversity in vegetation, it becomes very natural to have variation in living beings too. So, Khaptad houses hundreds of fauna too.
