Langtang Trek Itinerary

In the pool of choices to trek in Nepal, Langtang Valley Trek is an easy but equally wholesome trek experience in Nepal. The hike is short and lasts about 11 days, depending on your itinerary. The quick and moderately easy nature of this trek makes it one goes to option for first-time mountain trekkers. Trek commences from Syabrubesi, and we drive to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu. Trek begins taking you to Lama Hotel from Syabrubesi and reaches Langtang valley with additional ascends and descends. The total trek distance for the Gosaikunda Langtang trek is 19 miles or 30 km. As you hike, you can explore many impressive places along the way. Some fantastic places during the Langtang trek itinerary are Dhunche, Syabrubesi, Lama Hotel, Langtang Valley, Kyangzin Gompa and more.

Another highlight of the trek is the famous Kyanjin Gompa at 3860m, an important site of Buddhism. If you want to add more adventure to your walk, you can even summit Tserko Ri, a mini peak at an altitude of 5033m above sea level. The hardship of just a couple of hours takes you to this peak, where all pain sways away as you behold staggering mountains from Tserko Ri Peak. Standing at the peak, you will see a complete scenic view of Langtang Valley with accompanying peaks in the background.

The most noteworthy part of the Langtang region is that you have the opportunity to explore other treks and rich attractional rural mountainous settings. These attractions involve many natural sites, monasteries, Gompas, Lakes and more.

Langtang region’s famous pass is Ganja La Pass at 5130m and is one tricky part of trekking in the Langtang region. Passes in any treks done in Nepal are not easy and remember; more the hardship, more the fun and excitement.

Similarly, another attraction of the Langtang region trek is, of course, a much-sacred lake for both Hindus and Buddhists, Gosaikunda Lake. Gosaikunda Lake is a high-altitude mountain lake with beautifully changing colours and radiating positivity at an altitude of 4380m above sea level. This lake remains frozen for almost six months of a year, hence accessible only half a time of the year.

Gosaikunda lake sees its boom once a year during August as pilgrims flocks here to pay homage to God Shiva. There is even a temple to celebrate the purity and open heart of Shiva.

Kyanjin Gompa, Gosaikunda Lake. Langtang Valley is a significant attraction in the Langtang region. And the icing on the top is the never-ending richness in flora and fauna of Langtang National Park. And this national park is one of the wealthiest protected areas here in Nepal. Langtang National Park is famous for being able to protect endangered plants and animals. As you hike into the woods, you are likely to listen to the sweet lullaby of birds and excite your eyes with their colour. To the north, the national park is connected to Qomolangma National Nature Preserve, and Tibet is home to the natural park.

Things you must know before commencing the Langtang trek

Food, accommodation, safety and comfort are essential to take care of well. But remember, you have opted for a remote wilderness experience, so our initial suggestion to you would be to lower your expectations. Yes, foods and accommodation are available, and they offer basic facilities.

Regular food includes Dal, Bhat and Tarkari( Steamed/Boiled Rice, Pulse Soup and Veg or Non-Veg curries). But do remember that you can choose what to eat from the menu but do confirm food options before you start to trek.

Accommodation during the Langtang trek

Most trekking routes in Nepal have lodge/tea houses offering non-heated twin sharing rooms. The lodge is hand-picked by guide experts in this trekking route. However, the agency makes booking arrangements for your comfortable night’s stay. Tea houses have a standard heated kitchen cum dining cum gathering room. In this room, travellers gather for a meal of the day. The most lodge has shared bathroom and even has hot showers. Hot showers in the mountains cost more as they are primarily solar-powered. For charging your electronic device, there are charging ports available in rooms depending on the type of lodge you choose.

How challenging is the Langtang trek? What is the required level of fitness for the hike?

Trekking that too in rough mountainous terrains is not easy. Walking in Nepal too at a high altitude is not a piece of cake. An average of 5-6 hours hike each day is what you are opting for in the Langtang trek here in Nepal. Langtang Valley Trek is not as difficult as other Everest and circuit treks, but the challenges and hardship of the Langtang trek can’t be undermined. We recommend this trek with a moderate level of fitness. But, the Langtang trek is strenuous. So, please engage in physical exercise 5 -6 weeks before the actual walk. This exercise might include swimming, cycling, short hike, hitting the gym and many more. We suggest you work on your overall stamina level.

Similarly, leg strength is of utmost importance as you are trekking. The most critical part of the trek is your mental preparation. The more you mentally prepare yourself, the more challenges get easy and wholesome.

Health is wealth. To maintain excellent health conditions up in high elevations, one needs to take care of their food and other allergies. Langtang trekking is mildly challenging, and you are being fit to ease every step you take.

Nepal VISA

VISA and its charge is another essential aspect of any international travel. A Nepal tourist visa costs $30 for 15 days, $50 for 30 days, and $125 for a 90-day stay, and Nepal is not expensive. On a limited budget, too, there are lots this one can do.

Travel and Trekking Permits

Travel Trekking Permits are a crucial part of trekking different trekking regions of Nepal. You will need special trek permits so that you can set your foot in the lap of these mountains, and you can get these permits from Kathmandu itself. Permits are necessary as you trek in the protected regions of Nepal.

Permits, on the other hand, is Nepal’s government’s approach to tracking total travellers visiting or trekking different mountain regions of Nepal. Information collected via these permits proves helpful, especially when one has to be rescued.

TIMS Card

TIMS(Trekking Information Management System) is a card issued by TAAN, GON, to find out whether you are travelling independently or with a local agency here in Nepal. TIMS cost varies depending on your country, and the average cost is between $10 to $20. For Nepali and SAARC nationals, the TIMS permit costs around $6.

Langtang National Park Entry Permit

A Langtang National Park Permit is all necessary for any treks one does in the Langtang region. This permit costs $30, including 13%VAT. But, for Nepali and SAARC nationals, the cost is $15 with VAT. If you are travelling with the child, there are no charges for the child below the age of 10. You can collect this permit on your own from Nepal Tourism Board or let us handle everything; you sit back and relax.

Shivapuri National Park Entrance Fee

Your trek commencing from the Helambu trail requires another national park entry fee: Shivapuri National Park Entry Fee. The cost is $10 per person with a VAT amount.

Post-earthquake Langtang

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal in 2015 was catastrophic for the whole country, and the Langtang area was no exception. Several towns, including shops and teahouses, that were critical to the trek’s success were destroyed. A landslide struck the ruined community a few days after the earthquake.

Due to the catastrophic damage the region sustained (especially because Langtang Valley was the earthquake’s epicentre), it was assumed that the area would be permanently blocked off, with fears circulating about the safety of the region’s tourists.

The reconstruction effort, on the other hand, got underway fast. Because the earthquakes had ended and the risk of landslides/avalanches had increased, the boulders blocking the trekking trails were removed. To replace the ancient pathways and tea shops, new ones were erected.

The new Langtang valley is now 100 meters above the old one’s ruins. The one house that survived the earthquake has become a tourist attraction. The trail is now accessible, and fresh hikers visit the area annually.

What is the best time for Langtang Valley Trek?

The best season for any trek experience here in Nepal is during Spring(March to May) and Autumn(September to November). The sky clears during this time, and an alluring mountainous vista unravels in front of you. A wholesome and serene experience is all possible during Spring and Autumn. But, these are also the picked trek season of Nepal. So, it’s better to plan everything with Raconteur Adventure.

Langtang winter trek is all possible(December-February). But winter adds complication to already rugged terrains and unpredictable weather conditions. Trekking in the extreme cold condition is challenging alone.

Getting into the lap of Mt. Annapurna

Getting into the lap of Mt. Annapurna

SAHADEV KHATRI

‘ABC- heaven on earth’ – well said

The Annapurna Sanctuary is famous for its unique beauty and spiritual significance. Encircled by a colossal ring of Himalayan giants, it is an incredible experience that attracts trekkers from all around the globe.

Getting to know much more about the base camp through internet and friends, a thought to be in the lap of those beautiful mountains hit my mind. It was month of October and Nepal had just finished celebrating Dashain which is celebrated for 15 days.

A quote by Sir Edmund Hillary ‘It’s not the mountain we conquered but ourselves‘, we had in our mind, me and two of my friends Sashank Shrestha and Swopnil Singh Bhandari, which made this trip a success.

DAY 1: FROM KATHMANDU TO POKHARA TO SIWAI (4 K.M DOWN FROM GHANDRUK)

Getting to Pokhara was not that difficult, it was only 200 km west from Kathmandu Valley. You can travel by bus, micro or even a flight. We got into the bus from Kantipath at 7 in the morning. Since it was a tourist bus you can imagine how slow it would be. The best way to elude its slowness was to put on your headphone and use your imagination while glazing down at the beautiful Trishuli river below the road. We reached Pokhara at 2 pm and we were in a rush to get a Jeep or a local bus to get to Ghandruk Via kalopul.

We managed to get a local bus. The local bus had attracted a lot of crowd. It was a struggle to even get some air while in the bus. Finally we reached Siwai, just 4 km down from Ghandruk at 8 pm .We got ourselves room Rs.800 and it had one of the best cuisine I ever had in my life.

आगो माथि फलामको कन्ति , कन्ति माथि लोकल कुखुरा को मासु, अनि त्यो थाल मा मासु ढिडो   अनि छेउमा भाको गुन्द्रुको अचार

THIS IS HOW IT WAS MADE

MAGICAL HANDS

There we met a group of four people, Milan dai, Sahadev dai (same name though) ,Aniket dai ,Suraj dai’bhai timro ghar hetauda kaha nira’ re was enough to make us close.

DAY 2 : SIWAI TO LOWER SHINUWA (2340 m)

Sometimes it’s better to look back especially when someone is taking your photos.

It was the most difficult day. We had to walk for 12 hours from Siwai to lower shinuwa following traditional paths used for centuries by Tibetan traders. Walking for an hour, we met a boy who was really innocent.

His eyes are telling a story, just listen it through your heart.

Moving ahead through remote villages, terraced fields, and forests of bamboo and chestnut trees we met countless of people but there is a saying that you only tend to remember certain person who will be able to leave a mark in your heart. The best part of travelling is of course trying new food and meeting new people.

Since age is just a number.

We reached Jhinu and had our dal bhat and the most difficult part was to climb up the horizontal trail to get to Chomrong. It took us nearly 2 hour to get to the top. I would call this trail a knee breaker.

Struggle was real.

We somehow managed to get our bags up there in a khachhad and they charged 200 r.s per bag, Amazing! As we go up there is a thin amount of oxygen and thick price for everything.

Finally Chomrong-a village with a long history

We were so tired that we decided to have a lunch in a near hotel of Chomrong , and you won’t believe me but we paid RS 340 just for a Wai wai soup.

This is how local rakhsi is made.

A Copter landed on the ground of the hotel where we were having our lunch. All the villagers ran just to see the Heli. We too ran as we had never saw a helicopter till date as if it was a race.

We went there and found out that the copter was chartered to bring a foreign lady back from base camp as she was having an altitude problem. Then the copter flew and within 10 min it came down and again stopped at that place to refuel and I approached the pilot and said him that dai aghi hamilai helicopter ma abc lagdinu hunthyo?we would have pay you 5000 bucks, the pilot smiled and said he would have taken us in free of cost as it was already being chartered. then we realized Nepali ko budhiii pachi matra aauncha.

We were finally able to reach lower Sinuwa at 8 p.m and we somehow got the hotel. Our legs were feeling heavy. We decided to take a hot shower and guess what R.S 200 per person. If you guys are planning to visit ABC then make sure you get DFO gel in your bag.

DAY 3: FROM LOWER SHINUWA TO DEURALI (3290 m)

We started to walk at 7 am in the morning. The hyperactive sun was already up shining as young as always. We woke up to catch the sunrise over the mountain –a breathtaking view which was not to be missed. The owner said that it was hard to get a room up there in Deurali so better make a call and book a room and we actually did that. Thanks dai without your suggestion we would have been sleeping in a kitchen or something like that.

Serious by look, kind by heart-THE Owner

Then we met a group of nearly 10 people. They all were of age of 28 and luckily nearly all of them were DOCTORS, so we named them Dr. toli. Then we three mingled into their group and now we were the group of 13.

Oh yes, WAIT I forgot to introduce Mr. Nicholos Herzberg from Norway, such a good man he was. He came here all alone all the way from Norway and we met him on the way to Deurali when he asked a lighter from us. The fire was hot enough to make us close. Nevertheless, we were able to teach him some nepali words like Black tea means kalo chiya and lemon tea means kagati chiya. He ate dal bhat and slept in our room for the whole trek. For a couple of days I thought that he was a Nepali.

Mr. Nicholous HerzbergThe doctor Toli-Thanku All

Though the road was not tough like we had in our day 2 but we were so tired that we had to take a rest after walking 15 mins because we were struggling to breathe. Make sure you have got enough chocolates especially snickers because they will charge you RS.560 for a snicker which cost RS.60 in Kathmandu. So basically whenever you feel low and hungry grab a snicker.

A serious warning-Just make sure you have enough snickers in your bagDo not go with the size, I can give you energy said this small pack of happiness.

Very sad news for meat lovers like me which might give you a mini heart attack. From the place called Bamboo meat is strictly prohibited so from this point NO MASHU BHAT and I was like yesha kya guna kiya jo lutgaye.

NO meat from this point. I repeat NO MEAT!!

GO WITH THE FLOW

We reached Dovan and had our lunch. It was the time when my friends were busy taking snaps and I was taking a nap on the floor of the kitchen of the hotel where we had our lunch. I had never got such kind of satisfaction ever before.

DOVAN

Our Nicholous was happy enough. We told him about MO: MO and poor him he had never tried it before. We promised him to get a plate of local jhol momo when we get back to pokhara or Kathmandu. It was easy for us to get the room as we have booked it before.

That look from that guy as if i had asked his kidney. If you have ever played Temple run, then is not this place  same like that?

DAY 4: DERURALI TO ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (4130 m)

We woke up 6 in the morning and the water was freaking cold that it was hard for us to wash our face. It was a tough war between hand and water.

Let me remind you your phone will stop having a network so Deurali will be your last station to call your family, friends and loved ones.

Better to call your mother because you know the reason

We then headed for Macchapuchrey base camp (MBC)

Machhapuchhre Base Camp(3700 M)

After going through a thin forest and after walking for 3 hours we reached Machhapuchre base camp from where we could see Mt. Macchapuchre in south and Mt Gangapurna at south-east. The view was astounding.

Do not touch me am cold as F

Though we reached MBC at 10 am we were in a rush as we had to reach Annapurna base camp within 1 p.m. and if we did not reach there within the stipulated time then we couldn’t get any rooms so only spending half an hour we then headed towards our final destination-Annapurna Base Camp.

Only an hour or 2 left to reach the final destination

As we headed up more fog could be seen which was making it difficult for us to find our way. It was too windy. It looked as if nature got insane or something similar to that but something was not good there, not at all. The fog was so thick that we could hardly see people 5 meters ahead of us so seeing mountains was just a dream at that time. A thought was frequently striking on my mind that we came in a wrong time.

If someone asks me bhai ABC me kya chalraha tha? Then i would say FOG chalraha tha.

We kept on walking and we reached ABC at around 1 30 pm and we got the room. We and our DR. toli were in one big room. We were 13 people and they gave 11 blankets and asked us to manage. A thought was frequently striking on my mind that we came in a wrong time.

What was hurting me?My own thoughts.

We could clearly see mouse running below our bed. one mouse spoiled our 1 packet of RARA noddles like one whole packet.

There was no electricity and only available option to substitute it was CANDLES. We were given candles and the best part was we were playing UNO with the help of candles and flash light.

We were called for a dinner at 8 p.m and it was like a feast up there in 4200 m. We ate tuna pizza(too expensive though) mushroom pizza, noddles some local drinks and a good music in that hall. We were having a good time but there was no sign of fog to be clear so we went back to play UNO and in the meantime someone shouted ‘oe ayo ayo‘ I thought it was an earthquake and ran outside and I could not believe what I saw at that instance- Annapurna II right in front of me.

TAAADAA, Surprise

I shouted and began to dance like crazy and who won’t when one had walked for 4 whole days to see these mountains. The fog got clear and we could see Mt. Himchuli, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt Annapurna, Mt.Annapurna II, Mt. Annapurna south and Mt. macchapuchre. We were circled by all the Himalayas on the four sides and we were in the middle. Since it was a full moon night, the moon was lending its light to the mountains which made it glow like sliver. The scene was one of the breathtaking beauty.

A big family.

This kind of foot was too mainstream so we decided to go topless at 11 p.m. at -6 degree because you only live once. YOLO. Sounds crazy though!

The brave ones including me

DAY 5 ABC TO BAMBOO

Walking for 4 days was worth it to see these kind of view. Waking up at 6 am we could see sun lights were making those mountains to change its color into golden. We were lucky enough to see those mountains half golden and half silver. The slivers mountain we saw yesterday night turned into a golden mountain in a blink of an eye.

Morning view the first ray of sun on the top of those mountains

I had taken a flag of Nepal with me and I took it out of my bag and dug it there in the ground. All the people present in the base camp including foreigners did not miss the chance to take a photo with it. We decided to give it as a gift to the hotel where we had been staying. We wrote our name in it and reminded the owner to say about us whenever someone asked about the flag.

If you are planning to go ABC please check whether this flag is there or not.

We left the base camp at 9 am and walking 20 mins down along with my friend Julian who had been playing FADED OF ALLAN WALKER in his speakers. I do not know what made me to turn back but i just turn back as if someone was calling my name and it was those mountains which looked so appealing that I did not want to go back. That music of his speaker still plays in my mind as I look around and bid a good bye to all those beautiful mountains.

That were those mountains calling my name.

My friends were ahead than me as I was busy picking those wrappers of chocolates, chauchau kurkure etc. I do not know what made me do it but I collected all those wrappers I could see from ABC to Deurali

On my way, I met a man who was in his mid-40, came to me and said ‘Hey buddy you are doing a great job’ and put his hands in front of me for a handshake and I said that my hands were dirty and he just hugged me and said that’s not a big deal. I got so many thumbs up more than I could get on Facebook. The happiness was different from that I had ever felt. It was mixed with satisfaction. Good work are always appreciated, be it small or big because there’s no standard of measuring the word GOOD.

I felt like I was holding an award rather than a bag of litters

We reached Bamboo and had a night over there.

LIGHT or LIFE?

DAY 6: BAMBOO TO JHINU DANDA

We are like two people from two dimension, hope this bridge could join our hearts.

From Bamboo, we walked to Chomorong down the same trail that we used to trek to ABC few days earlier. We had a lunch at Chomorong( not that Wai Wai soup) .

On our way, we met a girl who was in her early forty but believes me I have never seen such beautiful eyes. We were talking all the way and then she asked me what my religion was? I paused and stared at her then in order to make me comfortable she asked which god I follow. Without taking much time I replied to the god that lies within me, in my heart he lives and I do whatever he wants me to. Then I said to her that god within me wanted to have this trek so without thinking much I came here. She appreciated me for having such thoughts. For that moment I regret for not being 40 hahha if you know what I mean. Just kidding!

Home calling Home

We were so tired to walk up that trail that we spend almost 3 hrs over there, so we cancelled the plan to reach Siwai that day and decided to spend a night a Jhinu Danda so that we could enjoy natural hot spring located at the edge of the glacier river that was 20 mins from our lodge.

Follow Me

Day 7: JHINU TO NAYAPUL TO POKHARA

Everything is temporary including our trek.

From Jhinu it was an easy walk as the trail was not as steeply as the other days. We can see a beautiful waterfall, green farming terraces and bee hives hanging on the cliff. We reached Siwai at 2 and took Jeep from Jhinu to Pokhara. It was as crowded as the earlier local bus. We reached pokhara by 5 but decided to have a rest that day. Our hotel was near to the lakeside so we could clearly see the evening view of lake fewa.

ONE OF THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING SINGLE IS YOU CAN SHINE ALONE.

DAY 8 POKHARA EXPLORATION

Since it was my 9th time in Pokhara, there was no any new place to be explored. We went to fewa for a peaceful boating and had our lunch near lakeside. We 4 including Nicholous were desperately waiting for that night. We went to almost all the pubs of Pokhara and the real fun started when we gave a heroic entry in Busy Bee. It was more like a LA night cause most of the people over there were from LA. Coincidence though.

COME ON COME ON ITS FRIDAY NIGHT

DAY 9 POKHARA TO KATHMANDU

The hangover was still there for me and same the was going with the other three. We were in rush to reach the tourist bus park of pokhara from where we could get our bus to Kathmandu.

TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT.

We drive back to Kathmandu from the same highway we took last time. That 6 hours in a bus we could still observe many small village through different angle.

WE THREE MADE IT POSSIBLE

After a few days, Nicholos also went back to Norway. We went to the airport to bid farewell to him. He told us that he had an amazing trip and will recommend his friend to visit Nepal. Well, what more one could ask for? Raconteur is a storyteller of the place that guest has visited. The provide excellent service to the guest. Life is a journey and it never ends.

Nepal Motorcycle Tour

Nepal Motorcycle Tour

Pc- Sonam Sherpa

Nepal is a country with great geographical variety, with each area having its own culture, geography, and climate. Depending on the site, motorbike trekking may be done at any time. The plan for a motorbike tour in Nepal is focused on visiting the Himalayan area region and experiencing the high Himalayas from afar. Nepal Highland Treks provides unforgettable motorcycle trips in the heart of the Himalayan Mountains to all motorcyclists. Every country has four seasons throughout the year, but Nepal has six, referred to as Ritu. Although most tourists choose to visit Nepal in the spring and fall, some country regions may be explored at any time of year. According to the Nepali calendar, each season has two months.

I. Spring Season

From mid-March to mid-May, this is the second greatest remarkable one for motorbike trekkers (Chaitra and Baishak Nepali month). During this season, fresh buds form on trees, and various flowers, including the Rhododendron (Nepal’s national flower), Magnolia, and other wildflowers, bloom in multiple parts of the country. This time of year attracts a considerable number of visitors. The mild temperature is called a changeable weather season since it is neither too hot nor too cold. This season is touristy

due to clear skies and pleasant weather in the mountains. This is an excellent month to arrange a motorcycle journey. Motorbiking across Nepal is a great way to see all of the notable destinations in Nepal and Tibet, including the Everest Base Camp.

II. Summer Season

Because this is the hottest season, riding a long-distance motorcycle in Nepal’s lowlands is not recommended. In these months, motorbiking to the mountains is still an excellent option. During this, flowers bloom and trees are fruit. Summer is the optimum time for farmers to plant their crops. According to the Nepali calendar, this occurs between mid-May and mid-July, or in Jestha and Aashad. PrRashadon season is another name for this time of year.

III. Monsoon Season

In English, Barsha means rain. Hence the rainy season is called Barsha Ritu. In the Nepali calendar, it occurs between mid-July and mid-September, or Shrawan and Bhadra. It rains a lot during the monsoon season, and there are thunderstorms again. Dsevererains create landslides in specific locations, and the roads become muddy, making travel difficult. This season, there are just a few motorbike locations left. It’s a great time to go mountain riding in the Upper Mustang. Upper Mustang is a shredded region that abuts the Tibetan plateau.

IV. Autumn Season

According to the Nepali calendar, the autumn season lasts from mid-September to mid-November. Post monsoon season is another name for autumn. Because it draws h a vast number of people, this season is recognised as the best season for travellers’ This season is also known as the festival season since it coincides with Nepal’s two significant festivals, Val Dashain and Tihar. Summer monsoons clean the surrounding area, resulting in pleasant weather. The cold has little effect on temperature instead of in the fall. As a result, a motorbike tour may be planned in any part of Nepal.

IV.I. Pre-Winter

According to the Nepali calendar, Pre Winter is between Mangsir and Poush, In the English; calendar, it is between mid-November and mid-January. Temperatures begin to drop throughout this season. Riding to the mountain can be significantly colder, but a short excursion is still viable. The most okay road for motor most OK in Nepal is  Jomsom Muktinath in these months. This is a mustang region, also referred to as lower mustang. Riding to Nepal’s lowlands to see historical sites like Lumbini and natural wonders like Chitwan, Gorkha, Bandipur, and Pokhara on the most acceptable motorbike route on a decent highway is an excellent season during the pre-winter.

IV.I. Winter Season

Winter Season is Nepal’s. coldest season

Nepal’s Best Yoga Trekking Seasons

Nepal is a lovely landlocked nation with spectacular views of the Himalayas, ancient temples, quaint hill villages, and incredible vistas. It allows you to appreciate the beauty of nature, develop strength and endurance, learn about different cultures, and have unique travel experiences.

Yoga Treks in Nepal are becoming increasingly popular because of their distraction and relaxation to trekkers’ minds and bodies. You will have a life-changing experience in the Nepal Himalayas if you combine yoga and introspection with the trip. However, before trekking, it would help to consider which season is suitable for yoga hikes in Nepal. Nepal has four distinct seasons. Each season has its own set of weather conditions. In some regions, hiking might be deadly throughout the summer and winter seasons. As a result, many hikers will find that the fall and spring seasons are significantly safer and more peaceful.

Autumn Season (September – November)

Autumn is regarded as the finest season for Yoga trekking in Nepal among the four seasons since the weather is ideal with a clean and relaxing fresh air atmosphere. The lovely mountains in the distance became more visible. The weather will be neutral this month, meaning it will not be hot or cold. Walking in the bright atmosphere is more delightful than the warm and cool air. The most critical Nepalese great festivals of Dashain and Tihar are observed during this season. As a result, autumn is recognized as one of the greatest seasons for trekking due to the pleasant weather and spectacular mountain vistas.

This season is ideal for all types of trekking.

Spring Season (March-May)

Regeneration, renewal, renovation, resurrection, and rebirth are all associated with spring. After the conclusion of a long winter on the snowy mountain slopes, the flowers begin to blossom high in the hills, particularly magnificent rhododendrons to dazzle your eyes and photographs. The moderate weather and often superb vistas of the mountains make spring hiking in this season an unforgettable experience. As a result, the spring season is ideal for hiking.

Winter Season (December-February)

Winter is also safe, depending on the location where you are walking. Snowfall is common throughout the winter season, especially at higher elevations. Trekking at higher altitudes might be difficult since the trail may be covered in snow. Extreme winds and below-freezing temperatures are also a concern. As a result, winter hiking is only suggested at lower elevations (up to 3500 m). At the time, some of the top trekking destinations include Panchase, Sirubari, Sikles, and Poon.

Summer Season (June – August)

Summer in Nepal occurs in  June, July, and August, and it is a very sunny and wet season, as Nepal has six seasons instead of four. This is the best time to trek in the rain shadow zones, such as Jomsom, Manang, or Lower and Upper Mustang, which stay dry for most of the year. Still, regular treks, such as Panchase and Poon Hill, or Annapurna Base Camp, should be avoided because of low cloud, muddy, humid, and leech-infested conditions.

The evenings begin to chill off rapidly in December, especially at higher elevations, necessitating thick hiking gear and a sleeping bag.

THE BENEFITS OF AUTUMN TREKKING

Even though the days are becoming warmer, the evenings are getting colder as winter approaches.

The weather is calm and bright, with beautiful skies and breathtaking vistas.

NEPAL TREKKING IN THE WINTER (DECEMBER-FEBRUARY)

Most people find it too cold to travel to high altitude locations in Nepal during the winter; daytime temperatures can vary from 9-12oC (48-54oF), and overnight temperatures can plummet to sub-zero. If the cold doesn’t bother you, it’s a fantastic season to trek to more popular areas, such as the Everest region, because there are significantly fewer people around compared to October and November and lower to mid-altitude paths, the temperature remains rather lovely. For this reason, our Christmas and New Year’s treks in Nepal are usually quite popular.

Mornings can be misty, but afternoons are generally bright, except for a dusting of snow in the mountains. With this in mind, high passes like as the Annapurna region’s Thorong La (5,416m/17,769ft) and the Everest region’s Kongma La (5,545m/18,192ft), Cho La (5,335m/17,503ft), and Renjo La (5,420m/17,782ft) are typically blocked from late November to March.

THE BENEFITS OF WINTER TREKKING

Because there are fewer people on the route, there are no crowds.

During the day, the sky is frequently clear and blue.

Winter is a beautiful time to visit the monasteries, and some new snow on the hills is ideal for photography.

THE CONS OF WINTER TREKKING

Due to snow cover, several of the high passes are inaccessible.

Colder weather necessitates more planning and preparation, but the benefits are well worth it.

Following are the recommendations for strengthening your legs;

  • Squats
  • Bench Press

  • Deadlifts
  • Step – Ups
  • Lunges
  • Overhead Presses

Exercising that too with the proper technique is of the essence as doing any exercise incorrectly harms you. Legs areas we know are the most significant part while exercising. Yes, legs are essential, but the upper body part also has to be in good shape to do this trek as Upper Body has to be in proper form as it carries the load for you during the tour. • Back and shoulder fly
  • Kettle-bell rows

The training process should gradually shift to building strength and mental and physical energy better. It is necessary to carry the weight of different capacities in your training session.  Please remember to rest in between extra physical training sessions. The proper form of the body is needed to prevent your body from injuries or strains.

  1. Mental Conditioning

Travelers and travelling enthusiasts usually tend to miss the importance of mental health needed to travel in this remote location where the weather can get extreme.  Some days can be more challenging than others during the trek to Everest Base Camp. So, it is necessary to have well maintained mental health. Strengthening mental fitness is not an easy task. The only thing that remains during the trek is your mental stamina, as your body will be exhausted physically because of the long hour trekking.

Imagining that you are doing the trek itself helps well prepare your body for trekking ahead. Presume that you are already in the mountains while hiking in your homeland.  Push your limits while exercising, which allows you to strengthen your mental health. Another way of increasing mental stamina is a half marathon or full marathon, which establishes mental grit and improves overall fitness level.

In Conclusion, it is just not cardiovascular activities or strength exercises that will help you prepare for the trek. The excellent blend of proper physical training, positive attitude and robust mental determination complete well-made training sessions.

Tour De Shivapuri Cycling

Tour De Shivapuri Cycling was our yearly cycling event done in the trails of the northern side hill of Kathmandu valley in Shivapuri National Park. The courses are the adventure, natural and peaceful. Nepal is a land of ecological extreme from north to south as we know that the north of part life the Himalayan ranges cover 2400km. Nagarjuna Shivapuri National Park is the ninth national park in Nepal, and it was established in 2002. Shivapuri is located in the country’s mid-hills on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu valley. Shivapuri Peak of 2732 m altitude. It is the viewpoint of Kathmandu valley, Nuwakot and Sindupalchowk.

In 2019 the raconteur adventure team plan for doing the Tour De Shivapuri cycling event. Our team went to Shivapuri National Park for research. Raconteur Adventure team took a Honda XR bike and start our ride from Mulpani, Jagadol, Budhanilkantha via Muhan Pokhari, Trebhir, Mulkharka, Sundarijal and end at Gokarna. The trails were adventures with downhill and uphill rides for both cycle and motorcycle. A visitor must pay an entry fee at the Muhanpokhari gate before entering the National park.   Visitors are not allowed to through waste during the trails. If anyone finds the national park, they will see the visitor.

As we know that Shivapuri National Park is the homestay of wild animals and birds. We found various birds and their melody whispering sound in our ride. Nature is just unique, and the view from Tarebhir is mind-blowing. The trails from Mauhan Poakhari to Mulkharka is suitable for cycling hiking. We can do a canopy hike into the woods. Finally, we decided to do the Tour De Shivapuri cycling event from our Raconteur Adventure company.

Our team fixed a date for the event on June 11, 2019, for Tour De Shivapuri cycling. We were 17 riders and met all the riders at Jgadol, Gokarna. Raconteur team greets the rider. After having black tea, we start our ride around 7 am. After two hours of ride, our team reached Muhanpokhari. We buy the entry ticket for Shivapuri Nationa Park entry. The rider rest for 20 minutes to drink water and fruits. They took the group photos. Around 11 AM, our team started our ride, and it was a medium uphill ride. We found a plain trail after one hours ride. A diversion point divided the track into two-track our left turn track will take us to Nagi Gumba, and then straight east way take us to Tarebhir. The trails were just planned, and it was easy for us to ride in the tracks. After 30mminutes, we found our lunch station. All the riders were hungry, and the Tarebhir hotel served with beaten rice, potato, tomato pickle, omelette, black tea. The hotel room was facing south face viewing to Kathmandu valley. Besides that, we order local buff suki & chicken fry, which mouth-watering. Some of the riders drink local drinks.

I want to enjoy nature, so I decide to go for a short one-hour hike to Tarebhir. The trails included an uphill track with trees and bushes of rhododendron flowers. The mighty Tarebhir was looking just awesome. I saw many birds in the canopy jungle hike to Tarebhir. We found many kinds of vegetation in Shivapuri National Park. It is the nearest National Park in Kathmandu valley. I breathe fresh air into the woods with amazing views of nature inside the forest: big trees, bushes, and many more. I came back, and our team were getting ready for the trip. Some were checking the tyre, and some were adjusting the seat.

The trail was a bit light uphill in the ridge of the national park. We have Kathmandu valley views on our good and left sides. We have an intense forest with greenery and big trees. Our team enjoyed the ride I was in last, and Nitesh’s brother led the team. Suddenly, the significant rain started to fall. I could not see the trails due to heavy rain. The course was filled with water flow, and it looked like a flood, but all the riders dnt stop and ride the cycle. It was one of the memorable cyclings for us. The team was cycling in the canopy trails under the shade of trees and bushes—the ride was entirely downhill after riding one hours ride for Trebhir. Our team has different brands of cycle Trek, Format, Cube, Trinx etc.; some have both suspension cycles, some were hardtails. We four were at last, and the other was at first and finally rain stop, and we all meet at the Mulkharka and having black tea and biscuit. Seeing our adventure video in GoPro, it was worth.

4WH jeep comes to Mulkhara, and we put all our cycles in the 4WH jeep. We all were tired because we did intense cycling, which was worth it and memorable. Our team went hiking for 1 hour from Mulkhara to Sundarijal bus park. Finally, our trip ended with memories of adventure cycling Tour De Shivapuri into the woods.

Dream Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

Annapurna Base Camp trek was one of my bucket list treks, and i was thinking of going for a trek Annapurna Base Camp Trek. My dream trek Annapurna Base Camp came into reality, I set everything in my mind to go trekking with my family.

In 2018 September, I was home alone. My mom and dad went to London for six months to meet my brother in Bristol City, London. There was no one at home, so I planned to put luck at home and want to go for a ride to Sikkim for Nepal Rider Meets(NRM) event. This is an event hosted by Friends Of Royal Enfield (FORE). NRM is a big motorcycle event. My first bike ride with our club Kathmandu International Motorcycle Club, was my life. It is a motorcycle club in azimuth. Chhedup Bozman Dai is the president of our club. An excellent person with a good heart. Learn many things from him. He is a pioneer rider as well.  He is our dearest dai. He is the owner of Jazz Upstairs Lazimpath. His restaurant has delicious food, especially Chicken Santa and mouth-watering MOMO etc. They have a musical event, especially JAZZ MUSIC. I usually went to jazz for food and music when I was free, and I am a foody person. My mom and dad were worried about me because I was alone. Dad called me, and I told him about the motorcycle trip to Sikkim. He told me not to stay home when they returned, only to go anyway I wanted. Then I thought, and I decided to stay home again. My cousin’s sister and cousin’s brother had a plan for the Annapurna Base Camp trek. They talked to me and said let’s go for a trip again. I spoke to my parents, and they said no. Finally, after a hard struggle, my mama house grandmother came to my house, and I was allowed to go for this adventure trekking with my family. Finally, I think a lot about my big brother Suwash Karki who supported me and talked to my parents for permission to go on this trek. On September 25, 2018, I packed my bag and went to my bed for sleep, and I was a little excited about the tour.

The trip was for the 8Night/9Day trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Early morning I woke up and called my brother. He said to come to me to pick me up at my home town Mulpani, Pipal Bot at 5 AM morning. We have a 4WH JEEP for the trip. We packed our bag at the roof of the jeep. We had a cup of tea at  Janak dai tea shop. Finally, around 6 AM, we start our drive from Mulpani, Kathmandu. Day first, we had breakfast at Malekhu with family. We ate sale roti, fry fish, gram, black tea and roti. After breakfast, we drive to Pokhara. My cousin’s sisters were very excited about the trek, and they started to sing songs. The cool air refreshed everyone inside the jeep. The drive was perfect and skilful because he drove very carefully. After three hours’ drive, we reached the paradise city Pokhara. We were hungry, and we had dhal Bhat at thakali restaurant. We had planned to stay in Ghandruk so we were little hurry and we bought fruits and some medical medicines for the trek.

As we know that Pokhara is a hub for Annapurna Circuit Trek. All the treks end and start from paradise city Pokhara. Pokhara is situated at an altitude of approximately 1300m. It has beautiful Phewa lake, begnash lake, rupakot lake, paragliding spot called Sarangkot, peace stupa and a Pumdikot with a giant statue of Lord Shiva god. In Pokhara, many tourists go for nightlife, music, food and adventure activities like aura flight and paragliding. Pokhara is a beautiful, clean and tourist city. We can do whole day boating in Phewa lake.

Day One

After one and half hours drive from Pokhara, we reached Naya Pool, the end and starting point of Annapurna Circuit Trek. Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP) A foreigner has to pay ACAP permit for trekking. The road from Nayapool to Ghandruk Bajar is pitch and off-road. There was a river on our right side and a hill on our left. Slowly we were driving uphill. After one and half hours of drive, we finally reached a Gurung village, Ghandruk. We stay in Hotel Rock & Mud, which is situated 1o minutes from Ghandruk bus station. The Hotel Rock & Mud provides three start facilities with room service and local organic food to the guest. They have a room facing mountains like Annapurna, Himchuli and Fishtail. A guest can see mind-blowing vies of the Himalayas from their pillow. The hotel owner is Mrs Lachhin Gurung, humble, calm and helpful. He cares for his clients. After a good talk with the hotel owner, we have a campfire, and a hotel chef offers local organic dinner. After dinner, we danced and sang songs, and we went to bed for sleep because we were tired of driving.

Day Two

The second-day early morning at 6 AM, we wake up and get ready for the trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4130m. We had a local Gurung breakfast at the hotel, and the hotel owner was blessed with good luck for our trip. We were a total of seven members of the family for the trek and our dijju best friend’s sister, who was a little fancy and fashionable and acting. Superwash Kark dai, Pramila Karki value, Shreesti Karki sister, Anup Parajuli brother, Aupa Parauli sister, Indira Karki dijju and me my self travelling Maddy Thapa. Our group was more adventurous. At 7 AM, we check out the hotel and head towards Jhinu for the trek. We walk almost one and half hours to reach Jhinu. We can see an excellent Village on our right sight, Landruk. We had a river one our right company as well. We can see a beautiful breathtaking view of Machhepuchare Peak. It is the peak till today nobody has done the summits of the mountain. It is believed that there is a god at the Machhepuchere, which is also called Fishtail Peak. We crossed a big suspension bridge. There was a queue at the bridge. It was tourist season. Many Nepali and foreigners were heading for the Annapurna Base Camp trek. At the same time, I got a chance to take pictures with some American and Brazilian friends. After crossing the bridge, there was Jhinu hot water spring. We had a hot shower at the pool. It was just a mind-blowing experience of my life at Jhinu Hot Water. My whole body relaxed, and I thought I got some extra energy for the trek. There was a long uphill trek from Jhinu to Chomrung. Chomrung is the meeting point becasue trekkers from Tadapani and trekker from Landruk and Mardil himal can reached Chomrung. After three hours of deep uphill walk, we finally reached Chhomrung hilltop and breath for a while and had a drink of water and a fresh breath of air with a fantastic mountains view of Annapurna, Himchuli and Fishtail peak. We had a delicious local lunch at the hotel. We planned to stay at upper Sinuwa from Chhomrung. We could see Upper Sinuwa, but it was pretty far for us to trek. We started the downhill trek at the same time one of my sister’s best friend’s sister who was out of our family she couldn’t walk. She was not focused on her walk and wasting our team time, and I was angry. I told her if she cant goes, she could go back and rest at Pokhara, and we will be back in Kathmandu together. Still, she was too much ugly and more fashionable. Finally, in the end, my big brother arranged a horse to get back her to Jhinu, and we again headed towards Upper Sinuwa. We walked one hour downhill trek and again 2 hours uphill hike, and after getting tired, we reached our second day overnight. The Upper Sinuwa was not the best place to stay. The second night was horrible to sleep.

Day Three

On the third day, we woke up early in the morning and had breakfast, and there were other foreigners, French, Russian, Japanese, Chines who were also busy eating and getting ready for the trek to Annapurna Base Camp trek. The trails were uphill, and downhill trails of stone stairs, and some tracks were just plain and natural. I used to be happy when I found natural trails on my trek. There was a dense forest full of beautiful birds and butterflies. I saw colourful butterflies on the tracks. On the other side, we can see beautiful mountain ranges. The Trek was going adventurous. We walked downhill for one and a half hours and finally reached a natural place, just peace of mind, Bamboo. The name is self Bamboo. The surroundings had all Bamboo bushes, and the surrounding was just greenery. The exciting part was I met my brother Ram Adhikari. He and I had taken tour guide license training together. We had a photo together we were a French and Spanish guide he was there with his French guest. I was so hungry, we were apart, and my family members ordered a delicious rare noodles soup for lunch. We rest one hour at bamboo.  After lunch, we trek uphill for Deurali for a third day-night stay. The bamboo trails to Durali were intense with full greenery with trees and bamboo. We have a river on our right sight. It was flowing in their natural way as we know that river has its path. I was lost for a while because the natural sound of the river makes me happy, and I was lost in nature, so I liked to go for a trek. My big brother was in the front line in the trails, and I was at last. We enjoyed the trek singing sometimes and sometimes staying somewhere and dancing, which gave us some energy. After trekking hard for three hours, we finally reached a place to stay tonight at deurali. It was almost packed, but I thanked the hotel owner, who provided a standard room for our family. We rest for a while and enjoy the mountain view, nature, birds whispering sound etc.

I plan for the next day’s trek. Our dream was trekking up to Annapurna Base Camp. I heard that the Annapurna Base Camp & Machhapuchere Base Camp hotel were packed, so I planned for the next day. I talk to my big brother and family about the problems we face the next day. If we were going day and staying in Annapurna Base Camp & Machhapuchere Base Camp hotel, we would not find a room to sleep. So planned we planned to go to Annapurna Base Camp, our bucket list place, in the early morning at 4 AM to come back and stay safely in Deurali. It takes 5 hours to reach Annapurna Base Camp from Deurali. We fixed our light and stick for the next day’s early morning trek. There were other doctors’ groups, and they also wanted to join our family trip. We had dinner and went to bed for sleep.

Day Four

Day four early morning, we wake up, carry our all gear and start our trek to Annapurna Base Camp at 4 AM. I was at the front with torchlight and stuck we scared of wild beer in the trails because in the bamboo area habit of fantastic beer. My big brother was last, and I was in front of a trek almost one hour from Deurali. I saw blood on the trails, I saw blood, and I was scared of beer because I was in front of our group. After two hours uphill trek, we reached Machhapuchere Base Camp (Fishtail Mountain). I took a long breath, drank water, rested for a while, and started our walk again. While trekking from Machhapuchere Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp, you will see a fantastic view of Fishtail Peak. After a thirty-minute trek, I was the first person to reach Annapurna Base Camp, and the Annapurna mountains greeted us, and I was happy to see the mountains in my lifetime. I saw the mountains with closed eyes. The moments were just incredible. I was hungry, so I ordered rara noodles, which cost me RS 5OO. After 10 minutes, all my family members safely arrived at the Annapurna Base Camp. They were all happy, and they started to click the single selfie photo and group photo with different mountain poses. We took a family photo with the Annapurna Base Camp digital board with a background mountains view.

After having a cup of tea again, we started our trek back to Machhapuchere Base Camp; the hike us downhill until we reached Deurail, our third-night stay place. It took us almost 4 hours to get deurali from Annapurna Base Camp. We have ordered lunch at durable. After lunch, we start our trek to bamboo for our fifth day-night stay. We all were tired of trekking. There was a que in the trails. The most adventurous part was that one of our family members was lost, so my big brother finally went back to search for them after 1 hour, and he met us safely. We eat biscuits and water and head towards Bamboo. Lifetime memorable trip with family. We all trekked till 10 pm in the jungle trails, which was amazing and scary. Lighting the torchlight and mobile light, our paths looked beautiful and clear to walk. There was a small pebble that disturbed us to walk. We were trekking in a group with loud music and song so that if wild animals came near to us, they would go far listening to the voice and music. The trail was almost scary at night because we may fall in the riverside if one mistake. Finally, after five hours walk, we reached the place to stay. All hotels were packed, so we got a dirty room to sleep, eat dinner, and adjust for our fourth night.

Day Five

Day fifth, early morning, we packed our bag and started our trek from Ghandruk. We dnt not eat enough food on day four because the hotel was just worst. Me Shreesti and Aupa were in front while returning, so we found an excellent place after upper Sinuwa for delicious food to stay. We talked and planned to stay for a while and had some food so that other family members would also arrive and we could trek together. The trails were entirely downhill with stone stairs, and the view was mind-blowing mountains. After walking for almost four hours, we reached a comfortable homestay after crossing the suspension bridge from Jhinu. The homestay owner cooked delicious local organic food for us. We all were tired, so we planned for bbq as well. We light a campfire at the front space of the homestay. We were lucky to see the stars.

Day Six

Day sixth, we move to Nayapool from Jhinu. We drive almost two hours. All my family went to Muktinath, and I had already been there, so I didn’t go. After that, my solo journey to Kathmandu started. I catch a local bus from Nayapool to Pokhara. Until I reached Pokhara, I slept whole one hour during the bus journey. I met my Homie friend Saroj, who worked in Pokhara Regional Airport as Fire Fighter in Fire Department. He took me to have a momo in Pokhara. I keep my bag in his flat. After having momo, I went to Pavilions Hotel & Resort to meet my best brother Raag. His dad was GM in the resort. I got the opportunity to visit the farm. He greets me with the best view of the resort. He took me to his dad’s quarter which was just incredible. We had some coffee, and I went for a shower. The Pavilions was just a fantastic resort. The hotel vehicle drops me and raag to the lakeside. We went to the lakeside for live music and food.

Day Seven

On day seven, I woke up early morning, and I met the junior’s brother from Multani, who were also visiting Pokhara. We walked in the lakeside and had lunch with the brother. Besides that, I have known one friend, Pramod Thapa’s brother, originally from Pokhara. He gave me his bike, and I got a chance to visit the rest of the place by bike, and I went to Pokhara hydropower for a visit.

Another exciting part was that the Kathmandu Standards Motorcycle Club family all came to Chitwan for an ending the celebration. I saw it on Facebook messenger; then I plan to move to Chitwan. After having lunch, I went to Pokhara Prithivi chowk to catch the bus to Muglin. I got a truck and travelled to Damauli, and again, the truck went to Gorkha. I  got down from the truck and had some fruits. I was waiting for the bus when there came a tractor, and the driver ate the fruits, and I  asked him to give a lift to Muglin. Muglin is the diversion point to go to Kathmandu and Chitwan. The tractor driver stops the tractor at Muglin. I was waiting for a bus. Finally, a bus arrived in front of me, and the driver asked me, where are you going? Then I answer I am going to Chitwan. He gave a lift to Chitwan he didn’t charge me the money. I was waiting for a jeep that would drop me at the Sauraha. At the same time, one couple came and asked me to let him go by taxi and share the taxi fare, and I agreed. The cab drops me at the Sauraha. One of our club members in the hotel, the church, had already arrived. I met her, and we went to Sauraha to visit. After 1 hour, all the riders from the Sikkim event came to the hotel, and chunchun and I went to the hotel to greet them with a smile. We stayed at the hotel and had a lot of fun regarding the bike event.

Day Eight

Day Eight, I woke up early morning, and all riders were in a deep sleep. They were tired of riding bikes, so don’t disturb them, so I hired a cab that took me to highway Sauraha chowk. I was waiting for a bus, and lucky one empty bus stopped at me, and I asked the driver can you please give me a lift to Narayanghat. He said okay and entered the bus, and I stayed near the driver’s seat. He was so kind that he even charged me the bus fare. I got out of the bus after a one-hour drive from Sauraha to Narayanghat. Narayanghat is the east-west highway’s diversion point and meets the end of Kathmandu. I was hungry. It was almost 9 AM. I eat local breakfast at the local tea house.

After breakfast, I went to Narayanghat chowk to catch a bus to Kathmandu. Finally, I was lucky, and I got a taxi to take me to Kathmandu. On the way, the cab found other two people, and I was in the front seat. We had lunch at Malekhu, famous for fry fish and lunch. After 5 hours drive from Narayanghat, we reached Kathmandu valley. We were so lucky because there was no traffic at the Thankot checkpoint. One of my ma school’s best friends, Santosh, comes to Chapel to pick me up. After 20 minutes ride from Chapel, he drops me at my home town Mulpani sweet home. This trip was one of the most memorable trips I have ever done before. I give thanks to all the people I met during the solo travel. Travel as much as you can.
