Australian Camp Trek- Itinerary Overview

Enthralling journey to Australian Camp Trek starts from Pokhara. After you arrive in Kathmandu, you will check in and rest for the day. If you wish to explore different facets of Kathmandu, we will be more than happy to assist you. The second day will take to Pokhara. You can fly/drive to Pokhara, and the choice is all yours. Arriving at Pokhara, numerous activities unfold. You can explore varieties of eatery, bars and clubs here in Pokhara. You can stroll too on the bank of the famous Phewa Lake, or involve in sightseeing of popular sites. Day third of the trek starts with a short drive to Phedi, which is just 45 minutes. From Phedi, an uphill hike starts. After hiking for almost one hour, we will reach Dhampus, and from Dhampus, we will walk another one hour thirty minutes until reaching our resting point.

Upon having lunch, we will walk for another 01 hours until reaching Australian Camp. On our day fourth of this trek, Sarangkot is the final destination. After breakfast at Australian Base Camp, we will follow a descending hiking trail passing through Naudanda (Nine hills). After having lunch at Naudanda, our descending path will pass through thick settlements of natives until reaching Sarangkot. Then, on the fifth day of the trek, Pokhara will be our destination. Hiking downhill from Sarangkot, Pokhara is just a couple of hours away. You can rest in Pokhara, engage in various relaxing rejuvenation too. After staying in the star category hotel in Pokhara, we will drive/fly back to Kathmandu on our 6th day. There are specific mandatory permits to enter Annapurna Conservation Area.

Drive/Fly to Pokhara from Kathmandu.

On our second of this Australian Camp trek, you will either fly or drive to Pokhara. Drive to Pokhara is more scenic and rewarding as you will have this chance to observe and capture picturesque hills, rivers and local lifestyles. There will be one lunch break on the way with two other stops for the bathroom. Once you reach Pokhara, we will pick you up and assist you through Hotel check-in. Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and trek to Dhampus(03 hours) and Australian Camp(2165m/03 hours)

After having a delicious breakfast at the Hotel in Pokhara, we will arrive at Phedi in private SUVs or vans (45 minutes). Phedi is the starting point of the trek. The trail ascends, granting you a peaceful view of rhododendron, oak, sandalwood, magnolia and pine forests till we reach Lower Dhampus. Dhampus is an affluent village of the Gurung community. Dhampus is also the village to engage in beautiful sightseeing of snow-capped glittering mountains, Annapurna and Lamjung.

After having a refreshment break at Dhampus, our trail ascends in a stone-paved path through mossy trees and other forests. We will reach Pothana from Dhampus within one and half hours of hiking. Pothana is the village to look out for tea houses, eateries and shops. Then, our trekking trail ascends further to Australian Camp, which is just a one-hour hike from Dhampus. We will enjoy the sunset view over the mountains from Australia, Camp and enjoy local food staying overnight in Hotel/Guest house here in Australian Base Camp.

Day 04

Australian Base Camp to Sarangkot (05 hours)

After starting our day with a delicious breakfast meal at Australian Camp, our hike starts to reach the day’s destination, the Sarangkot. Our walk passes through the forest and will descend following the Naudanda trail. We will stop for lunch in Naudanda (nine hills) and continue our hike towards Sarangkot. The route to Sarangkot is relatively easy, also serving you a mixed view of scattered and dense settlements of natives and hills and mountains. Once we reach Sarangkot after finishing the hike of almost 05 hours, the enchanting scenery of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Macchapucchre, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal unravels from Sarangkot. We will stay overnight in Sarangkot to not miss the early sunrise from here.

The Dhampus Australian Camp Walk price varies from $250 to $500, depending on how many days you choose to trek. The longer the journey, the more costly it will be. Similarly, the price will vary depending on the accommodation type and the number of people at your party. Nature Lovers Treks and Tours often provides a complete package that includes all costs and expenses for the entire excursion. Passing through terraced farms, the ethnic villages, and to the city life of Pokhara, every step creates stories to unfold. After settling down in the Hotel at Pokhara, you will have free time in Pokhara.
