Is the Ghorepani Poonhill trek is possible in three days?

Yes, but from Pokhara. You can reach Poonhill and come back to stay in Pokhara in three days. If you do this trek within three days, you won’t get Tadapani and Ghandrul like unique villages.

What is the total length of the Poonhill Trek?

The total length of Poonhill Trek is 51 kilometres.

Is it possible to do the Poonhill trek with children and family?

Yes, Poonhill is possible for children, too, as the route is short and the average hike per day is 4-5 hours. Bringing infants to this trek is not the best idea, we suggest. If otherwise, hiring a porter to carry infants will be an alternate choice for you.

What type of hotels can I expect in the Poonhill trek?

Throughout the trek, you will be finding friendly accommodation, which is better if you compare facilities in other trekking regions of Nepal. You can expect a nice furnished room with bathrooms, working WI-FI and even a hot shower in lodge stay here.

How to reach Poonhill?

You can get to Poonhill via three different routes. The most popular route is Nayapul-Ulleri-Ghorepani, followed by Ghandruk-Tadapani-Ghorepani and Tatopani-Shikha-Ghorepani.

What is the location of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek?

The Ghorepani Poon hill hike is located in the Annapurna Conservation Area in Nepal's north-central region.

Is it necessary to obtain a trekking permit for the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

Yes, you will need an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permit for the Ghorepani Poon Hill hike, which can be purchased at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in Kathmandu or Damside in Pokhara.

ACAP permits and TIM's card are two separate types of permits. Permits and TIMS are priced at:

The cost of an ACAP permit is $30 USD per person.

The TIMS card costs $10 in the United States (a trek through trekking agency)

The TIMS card costs $20 in the United States (Trek by yourself)

What kind of lodging will we have on the Ghorepani Poon hill trek?

You will be staying in locally crafted tea houses and lodges during your Ghorepani Poon Hill hike. The lodging on this walk will be private, with twin beds and private lockers. Your room will feature a comfy mattress, pillows, a tiny tea table, and a blanket, but there will be no restroom. It's a shared room, and if you use a hot shower, you'll be charged extra.
The cost of lodging during the Ghorepani Poon hill hike ranges from $5 to $10 US (twin bedroom).

Is there a power outlet where I can charge my camera and phone?

Yes, you may charge all of your electrical gadgets in a variety of locations. You must bring all of your cables and chargers with you. Because cold temperatures quickly deplete batteries, it is recommended that you keep all of your electronic gadgets warm within your sleeping bag or blanket.

What is the difficulty level of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking?

The Ghorepani Poon hill hiking is one of the easiest treks in Nepal's Annapurna region. The hiking distance from one hamlet to the next varies from day to day, but you should expect to walk for 4 to 6 hours every day on average. You can make it if you are physically and psychologically fit.

It is a four-day walking vacation, but only the first two days will be spent ascending through a rhododendron forest, and the final two days will be spent descending through the forest and villages.

Is hiking equipment provided by the trekking agency for the Ghorepani trek?

Actually, the trekking agency will only provide you with a few things. The trekking agency will supply trekking pools, sleeping bags, down jackets, and trekking maps in general, but you will be responsible for the rest of the gear.

There are numerous trekking shops in Kathmandu and Pokhara, so if you need to buy anything before starting your trek, we can assist you in finding it at a fair price.

What are the meal options for the Ghorepani Poon hill trek?

Breakfast and dinner will be offered at the lodge while walking in the Annapurna Ghorepani area, and lunch will be provided by a local inn or restaurant.

Dhalbhat (rice, curry, spinach, lentil soup, pickle, and pappadam) is a Nepali dish that is extremely popular in the mountains. You can also get bread, a set breakfast (which includes bread, omelet, potatoes, and tea), fried noodles, fry rice, Mo: Mo (dumpling cuisine), a variety of soups, Ramayan Korean soup, and Indian foods. You can order practically any type of food, but don't expect it to be professionally prepared. It's simply created from scratch and is completely safe to eat.

In the lodge and restaurant booths, there are drinks as well.

Is it possible to have AMS (acute mountain sickness) on the Ghorepani trek?

The Ghorepani Poon Hill trip is a low-altitude, easy hike. Ghorepani (2,028 m) is the highest point where you will spend the night, therefore there are no chances of getting High Altitude Mountain Sickness on this short and simple journey. After passing 3500 meters, persons are more likely to get altitude sickness.

What should I do if I become ill while on this journey?

If you're traveling alone, you can tell the hotel owner or a close friend about your problem; similarly, if you're walking with a trekking guide, you can tell him about your problem and he'll assist you. He will counsel you to take medicine if you have a minor problem, but if you have a significant problem, he will arrange for an emergency helicopter evacuation.

What is the current weather and climate in Poon Hill?

The temperature and climate change with the seasons, and there are four of them. However, Poon Hill is a cold and windy view site, so carry appropriate clothing, such as a warm hat, warm jacket, gloves, a headlight, and some snacks.

Autumn and spring seasons are known as the best trekking seasons in Nepal, including Ghorepani Poon hill, since the weather clears up between October and November (autumn season) and March to May (spring season). Furthermore, if you want to visit Poon Hill during the monsoon or winter, you can, but the view will be on and off every day.

What is the approximate cost of the Ghorepani Poon hill trek?

The price varies depending on the amenities you receive, but on average, a four-night, five-day package costs $490 US.

How much does it cost to hire a Guide and Porter for the day?

The cost of hiring a guide for the Poon hill hike is $25 USD per day, and the cost of hiring a porter is $20 USD per day. Following that, throughout the winter and monsoon seasons, guide and porter salaries may be slightly lower.

During the Ghorepani Poon hill walk, is there a hospital or clinic?

We don't get to the hospital on our hike, but there are primary clinics at Ghorepani and Ghandruk village.

What is the cost of one full course meal?

The prices vary depending on the type of cuisine you order, but one main dinner on the Ghorepani Poon hill hike normally costs between $5 and $9 US.

Is there Wi-Fi and a hot shower available at the Tea Houses?

Yes, practically every tea house now includes Wi-Fi access, as well as a hot shower, for which they will charge a nominal fee of around $2 US.

When is the ideal time to go hill climbing in Poon?

Because the Poon hill trek path passes almost entirely through a rhododendron forest every day, and spring is the season of blooming with a clear sky in the background, the greatest trekking season for Poon hill is the spring season (March to May).

What is the quickest way to complete the Poon hill trek?

If you are on a tight schedule, 4 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu would suffice; but, if you are in Pokhara, two days will suffice. For the past few years, you have been able to take a jeep straight to Nangethati, which means you may avoid 1 full day of walking and only need two days to travel from Pokhara to Pokhara.

What is the temperature like on the Ghorepani Poon hill trek?

Seasonally, the weather fluctuates, but Poon Hill is unquestionably a frigid and windy vantage point.

Winter (December, January, and February)- 12 degrees centigrade in the middle of the day

Early in the morning, the temperature is 5 degrees Celsius.

3-degree Celsius at 3 a.m.

The spring season (March to May) is the best time to visit.

The temperature is 19 degrees Celsius in the middle of the day.

10 degrees Celsius in the morning

9 degrees centigrade at midnight

Monsoon season (June-August)- The temperature is 21 degrees centigrade in the middle of the day.

11 degrees Celsius in the morning

10 degrees Celsius at midnight

Autumn (September to November)-

17 degrees centigrade in the middle of the day

8 degrees Celsius in the morning

At 12 a.m., the temperature is 6 degrees Celsius.

The temperature I indicated above is for the Ghorepani area, so it will be considerably hotter near Thikhedumng and Ghandruk (the first and last stops on your walk).

Is there a way to make a phone call while hiking?

Both NTC and Ncell local SIM cards function, but the connection isn't strong enough to communicate well. You can, however, converse and use your phone. If you need to contact your family or work in an emergency, you can utilize the tea house's Wi-Fi service, which is provided in practically every tea house.

For the Ghorepani trip, how much local cash should I bring?

During this trek, your trek organizer will provide you with all meals, lodging, guide and porter salaries, transportation, and a hotel in Pokhara, but there will be some additional expenses such as donations, mountain souvenirs, water, hot showers, battery charge, Wi-Fi, and tipping field staff. For all extra activities, you should bring 2500 Nepali rupees per day per person, which should be sufficient for the 4 night 5 day Ghorepani trek.

Is tipping required for Guides and Porters?

Although it is not required, they expect some recommendations after your successful tour of 4 to 5 days in the Himalayas. They anticipate an approximate gratuity of $8 US per trekker per day for the guide and $5 US per trekker per day for the porter.
