Itinerary Overview, Karnali Rafting

We drive 20-22 hours to Kalyandanda from Kathmandu via Birendranagar, Surkhet. There is also an alternate to reach here,  can take the flight to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. The flight will cost you extra, and upon reaching Nepalgunj, we drive to Karelaghat, our put-in point for the trek, or drive to the new put-in point at Dungeshwor. Rafting is 6-7 days long and covers a distance of 180km. As 6-7 hours of trekking ends, we will drive to Chisapani, the take-out point of this Karnali rafting. Then we will drive back to either Kathmandu (15 hours) or Pokhara(10-12 hours). Another option is to drive to Nepalgunj from Bardiya and fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 01

Kathmandu Arrival

As you fly in the sky of Nepal, greenery and snowy mountains welcome you to your plane seat. Once you finish immigration formalities, Raconteur Adventure includes you at the airport and drive you to the pre-booked hotel. You are likely to encounter cultural shock as you get out of the airport, but no worries, we are here to help you give all the needed information throughout your journey. Stay overnight in three/four-star hotels in Kathmandu.

Day 02

Fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu and drive to Surkhet

We will fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu, which takes around 40-60 minutes depending on the aircraft you have booked your seat on. We fly to Nepalgunj in the afternoon, and a scenic view of hills and mountains accompanies our flight. Upon arrival at Nepalgunj domestic airport, we again drive to Surkhet. Surkhet is headquartered in Nepal’s Mid-Western Region and is a sweet blend of rich old heritage and modernization. If you wish, you can drive to Surkhet directly from Kathmandu, but the ride is 12 hours. Overnight in a nice hotel at Surkhet.

Day 03

Drive to Sauli- 05 hours

On this day, we drive to Sauli, which is our put-in-point for our exciting rafting adventure. We will drive with the scenic view of a lovely setting that is picturesque in all form and shape, and the whole surrounding is clean, fresh, and enticing. We stay overnight in Sauli for rest and prepare for rafting waiting for us.

Day 04

Rafting kicks-off

On day fourth of our itinerary, we start a real rafting adventure. Sauli is where rafting to Karnali starts. The wilderness of Karnali rives is what we encounter on this day. The adrenaline rush gets in as big bounces and rapids hit us as we raft in the river. The rafting journey continues with excitement and takes a breath way into this mighty river’s technical currents. Camp overnight stay by the river.

Day 05

Rafting to God-house

The rafting of day five is more of a challenge, and we experience incomplete river form and the highest of current and speed. Rafting continues passing through magnificent jungles, rewarding you all chances to observe and dissolve in the natural serenity of gorges too. Rafting today has tricky rapids, but our guide is there to help you. Overnight at camp in God-House site.

Day 06

Rafting to Seti Dovan

Day six is no less adventurous in any sense. Today, many high bounces and huge rapids are waiting to challenge your bond with water. The whole excitement of rafting reaches its height as we dip into the rapid waters. We stay overnight after an adventurous rafting journey at camp in Seti Dovan.

Rafting to Jamuna village

Our incredible rafting journey continues with exciting experiences in this amazing river, the Karnali River. We raft with an astonishing view of natural landscapes and the serenity of water itself. The challenges in today’s trek are challenging and take your breath away. Today’s journey is thrilling and beautiful as we get the friendly company of natural and jungle settings. After an excellent rafting experience, we stayed overnight in the Jamuna village area camp.

Day 08-11

Rafting to reach Chisapani

The four days of rafting now becomes more pleasant as you reach the division of the Seti River. The river broadens during the rafting experience, and you will see other kayakers in the river. You have one day to rest, explore, and get information about the place. Rapids on the river can feel never-ending with challenges and huge boulders on the way. We reach Chisapani, our put-out point for this fantastic rafting experience as we finish our rafting. We will drive to Nepalgunj from Chisapani and will fly to Kathmandu. We will receive you at the airport and will guide you to the hotel in Kathmandu. Raconteur Adventure will host a farewell dinner in a downtown cultural restaurant in Lazimpat. We will be more than happy to hear your stories, review and suggestions.

You can easily extend your stay by visiting Bardiya National Park, driving from Nepalgunj.
