Cycling Tour of Kathmandu Heritage

Raconteur Adventure did Kathmandu Heritage Cycling Tour with nine international guests. We got nice reviews and are planning to do more tours in the future with our beloved guest’s family. This cycling tour itinerary of Raconteur Adventure is a half-day cycling experience getting to some of the holiest places on earth, one of Hinduism and another of Buddhism. The temple of Pashupatinath is the most spiritual temple on earth as the third eye of Shiva is celebrated here. And the Boudhanath resembles the same life living pattern by enlightening inner you.

In this Kathmandu Heritage Cycling Tour, we got to see amazing art, the architecture of stone and wood, the Hindu cremation process, and one of the largest dome-shaped stupa in South Asia. Kathmandu itself is a beautiful city with the tag of, “City of temples”. Cycling in Kathmandu simply is a joyous experience and out of the whole of Kathmandu, Pashupatinath and Bouddhath are a major attraction. So, we designed a half-day cycling itinerary.

In this itinerary, we start cycling from Siphal, a big playground for outdoor activities to Pashupatinath temple. This is short cycling of just 15 minutes. We park our cycle and then visit the premises of Pashupatinath temple for 30-40 minutes. Then, we will have a tea break before walking to Guheyashwori and again cycling to Boudhanath for 20 minutes. The cycling ends with breakfast at Boudhanath terrace restaurant.

Sustainable Tourism

UN Environment Program and UN World Tourism Organization define sustainable tourism as “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.” This tourism involves the sustainability in all the aspect of tourism. Tourism is of mainly four components, i.e. Attraction, Accessibility, Accommodation and Amenities. All these components must follow the sustainable practice to make sure resource remains for forthcoming generations.

Raconteur Adventure practices and will practice sustainability during any journey package. We don’t suggest smoking at fire-prone jones, guide you to hire trekking gears, no-plastics is allowed in our tour, we use vehicles less wherever possible, but we also take care of your safety and hygiene guidelines. Raconteur Adventure takes the negative impact that tourism creates seriously and run its company adopting the concept of long-lasting tourism.

Sustainability

We believe in sustainability in all aspects of our relation. So, we promise to deliver the service you need and desire. We want to create a sustainable relationship with you. The connection that we will build helps for sustainable tourism. There is a lot of side in achieving the highest level of sustainable tourism. Plastics and other non-biodegradable products are requested to keep minimum, making less noise into the wilds, and taking back the garbage from mountains are small things that go a long way. Sustainable tourism is of the essence, and Raconteur Adventure joins this journey of sustainability.

Community Work

Community Work

Tourism practice that raconteur adventure involves the community work. We contribute to the community as much as resources allow us. We suggest you book your accommodation in homestay and community homes. Wherever you travel with us, we try our best to contribute a little to that place. We are tied with a scout organization, local youth club and other local clubs.

This companionship allows us the different serve communities. We have put dustbins in the local chowk recently. We give scholarships to the needy, maintain and educate on keeping a healthy and sanitized environment, invest in the construction and reconstruction of local places. As we are in this tourism industry, we create direct and indirect employment. We are a team of three with two staff working 8 hours a day and six days a week, with the salary and benefits. Raconteur adventure gives business to hotels, trekking gear outlets, vehicle companies, guides, porters and many more. We look after businesses in more local and remote areas to minimize the environmental effect and get the most satisfying small experiences.

Doing as much as we can!

From building a strong community to contributing to the culture, tradition, and living lifestyle, we are doing our part. Without community, no business can run efficiently. It is this business relationship that decides the success of any business. So, we earn and give back. All community service is possible because of you. As you travel more, we can serve more. Community thrives in unity, and what better than the international community joining hands in our happiness and sorrows.

Green Tourism

As the world is struggling with the effect of global warming, everyone should do their part to protect, preserve and revive our earth. The tourism sector creates pollution of ocean, land, air, light and sound. As any business sector is responsible towards their surroundings and nature, raconteur following the path of green tourism stands with nature and its norms.

Raconteur Adventure invests in sustainable tourism. We believe in tourism where the slogan is, “Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints”. Leaving fewer carbon footprints is our motto. So, when you do the tour with us, plastics are disallowed. We will put our garbage in a bag and throw it at an accessible location. We suggest our guests hire trekking gear rather than buying. This small gesture goes a long way. Smoking is strictly prohibited in dry areas, including forests, pastures and others. Our tourism areas include less visited, more remote and sacred places, allowing shared resource usage. We recycle wherever possible, do as much as we can to give back to the community. Raconteur adventure practices and adopts the new parameters of green tourism.

Give back to community

As we make more travel stories with you, we give back more to the community. We are tied with a local youth club organizing concerts to raise money for the needy. We distribute dustbins, manage the investments for the development and cleanliness of religious sites, feed the needy, provide scholars to the marginalized, and many more. It is not us who is doing this, and it is you.

We need you, and you need us; that’s how humanity works. Lets’ promise to do whatever we can to preserve nature that. We, raconteur adventure, have not done everything, but we are doing what we can to practice green tourism. So, contribute to green tourism and the global community, and we will make this journey memorable.
